Pink: 'Funhouse'

If only we could all write a top selling pop album when a relationship is over. Yet this is just what Pinks done with her brand new album ‘Funhouse’.
It starts with the hit single ‘So What’ and the lyrics ‘I guess I just lost my husband. I don’t know where he went’. Pink has always had the ability to cover the seriousness of her lyrics with humour, with her last album treating us to classics such as ‘Stupid Girls’ and ‘Fingers’ and this album is no exception.
‘lease Don’t Leave Me’ is another serious/silly song as Pink plays the possessive psycho girlfriend in her video and the ‘da da da da’s in the background giving us a light and bubbly backing hook. ‘Mean’ is yet another break up song which pulls out the Aereosmith style guitar riffs, ‘Crystal Ball’ takes us back to Pink’s country roots and the British musician/producer, Eg White has managed to add spunk to the track ‘One Foot Wrong’ with a synth bass line during the chorus.
This album sees Pink coming to terms with the break-up of her marriage to motocross star Carey Hart, with most of the tracks been ballads about heartache this does mean the album has lost some of the furiousness that we’re used to hearing in tracks such as ‘Just Like a Pill’, and yet Pink does pull out a few oldies with’ Bad Influence’ been a typical Pink party song. Pink’s vocals are once again amazing and I would recommend this album to any hardcore Pink fans and a few none hardcore Pink fans too.
